Aint-It-Cool points us to a rumor that Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, may be in “The Dark Knight”. I’m kind of surprised that no one seems to be speculating who she would be if she did have a roll in the film…it seems pretty obvious to me…hot blond chick? In a movie where The Joker is the villain?
Harley Quinn anyone?
Here’s what started the rumor:
“I’m an independent filmmaker [ writer / producer ]: “I had been talking back and forth with one of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s reps about a role in a new film I start shooting in May.”
“It was always a long shot, and we did get the run around for quite a while, but eventually, they expressed a morsel of interest.”
“Never did speak to her though. Unfortunately, yesterday we were informed that she wouldn’t be able to do it; because there might be a clash with ’Batman’.”
“Seemed like a fight we wouldn’t win, so gave up on that one.”
We’ll have to wait and see if this turned out to have even a shred of truth to it, but if so, I can’t imagine her playing another character than Harley. Maybe just the Joker’s shrink in this one, and Harley in the future, but as far as the Bat-verse goes, there aren’t a whole lot of options.
I seriously doubt she’s going to play Magpie.
I hope she does play Harley, I think it’ll be a trip to see her playing someone as pychotic as the joker.
