2You make it sound like Mallrats was such a great achievment for Jason. Mallrats was probably one of the worst films of the 90s. You also seem to imply that his career is in some type of downward spiral, when in fact he’s starred in Almost Famous, Dogma, Chasing Amy, The Incredibles, Monster House and–this might be the iceing on the cake–he happens to star in a very successful and acclaimed TV series…
If you honestly think Jason was better in Mallrats than the films I’ve listed above… you might want to go back and rewatch those films.

I am fully aware of Jason Lee’s career path. I mentioned Mallrats since it was his first big starring role, and the first time I noticed the guy. I’m a big fan of Jason Lee. I love My Name is Earl, but that doesn’t change the fact that Alvin and the Chipmunks is…in my opinion…a terrible idea for him.

5You’re right, I did kind of get a bit testy. I apologize. :) As for the chipmunk role… It might sound like a bad idea now, but I’ll reserve opinion until the project moves into the production stages and we start to see some trailers. That is, if it ever actually makes it to the production stages.
