Apple has just posted how much they managed to earn in the second quarter of this year, and if you happen to own Apple shares, you certainly have reasons to be happy.

Apple today stated that they shipped a whopping 1,517,000 Macs and a staggering 10,549,000 iPods during the second quarter of 2007. This represents an increase of 36% for Macs and 24% increase in iPod sales (who is buying all these iPods?). This translates to a revenue of $5.26 billion and a net profit of $770 million, or $.87 per diluted share.

Despite the delay of Leopard, people are still buying Mac computers as if they couldn’t get any better, and despite the announcement of the iPhone, people are buying even more iPods than last year. I guess I’ll be joining those numbers in the third quarter, but until then, I wonder what’s making all these people change to Macs.
