Casting Couch is Forever Geek’s attempt to cast some upcoming movies (or movies that we wish were upcoming) with the talent that we think would be a) the best for the job and b) people that Hollywood would actually cast in the roles. This is our attempt to play casting director, and you’re welcome to join in. Feel free to leave your picks for the roles in the comments below.

I loved Knight Rider as a kid. I still love Knight Rider. I would buy that production model of K.I.T.T. if I have $150,000 grand to throw around.
There have been rumblings over the last year about a Knight Rider movie being in development. I think this is a great idea, and that Knight Rider could be a Bond-like franchise. Huge action, some humor, but not a parody flick like “Starsky and Hutch”. With that approach in mind, I have put together this list of who I think should be in Knight Rider, and a brief plot concept to move this thing along…here we go…
Plot: When federal agent Michael Long is gunned down during an investigation gone wrong, he is presumed dead. With the help of a dying man named Wilton Knight, the director for the Foundation of Law and Government, a secret defense organization, Michael Long is saved from the brink of death, given a new face, and recruited to join the organizations mission of helping the powerless. With Michael Long dead, he is renamed Michael Knight – an is officially a man who does not exist.
After Wilton’s death, his long time friend, Devon Miles, is given the role of director of FLAG, and introduces Michael to the Knight Industries Three Thousand, a futuristic car equipped with sophisticated artificial intelligence, and the latest defense weapons, and technology, including a super-shell that makes the vehicle virtually indestructible.
Michael’s first mission is to find the man that shot him. He was a former employee of FLAG, and managed to steal the secret formula behind KITT’s super shell…they soon discover that he sold it to a former British secret agent, turned international terrorist who is determined to sell the secrets of the shell to the highest bidder….
Michael Knight – Ashton Kutcher – The original concept behind Knight Rider was a show where the lead actor just had to look pretty…and the car could do the talking. So, you have to have a strong leading man that appeals to the fairer sex, but he also has to have the chops to be an action star, and not take himself to seriously. Ashton Kutcher would be perfect for this role.
Voice of KITT – John Hodgeman - Replacing William Daniels in the role of KITT is almost unimaginable to me, but I know full well that Hollywood execs would do it…so I’m doing it too. After much deliberation, I could only come up with one man that could do the job…John Hodgeman (you know, the PC from those PC vs. Mac commercials, and the Daily Show). Hodgeman is a rising star with the chops to pull this role off, and play it totally straight.
Devon Miles – Samuel L. Jackson – The Foundation of Law and Government needs a strong leader to face a new generation threats, someone with a harder edge than Edward Mulhare – I think Jackson could add a bit of star power punch, and much needed intensity to the film.
Wilton Knight – James Cromwell – This minor, but extremely important role needs a high caliber actor to pull it off, and James Cromwell is a veteran character actor with the chops to do this part justice.
Bonnie – Alexis Bledel – The character of Bonnie is KITT’s lead mechanic, and she needs to be cute and smart at the same time. Gilmore Girls co-star (and Sin City girl) Alexis Bledel would be the perfect fit for this role.
Villain – Patrick Stewart – The villain (that I just made up) would be a take on Bond, a former British Secret Agent who has gone bad, and is now selling information on the black market to the highest bidder. The perfect person for the role, would be Patrick Stewart. Stewart can play the right mix of suave and sleaze to pull this off (and Sean Connery is just too obvious)

1I like it alot…
But you did forget one thing… What kind of car should it be?
My opinion… A Saleen S7 and the voice… Jeremy Irons

2@ Rick
The Saleen S7 would be slick, but I’d prefer that they did an original design that looked more inspired by the Trans Am, than just modifying an existing car…
Still, if I had to pick a current vehicle, I would probably go with a heavily modified version of the new Camero that’s coming out…

3I’d love to see a KR movie, if they did it right. If it were another Starsky crapheap, I’d avoid it. Ashton as Michael, though? Hmm…I could see it, I guess, but it’s almost too cheesy to have Ashton in that role, depending on how he played it.
As for the car, what’s wrong with keeping the original? I remember not having the same feeling about KITT in the other car in the mini-series they had.

5I Like The Way They Have Done The New Tv Show And Would Keep The Actors From The Show In There Respectful Roles And I Like The Script Story And Plot You thought Of But With That Said You Could Make It A Prequel To The Series Then Go On To Make Other Movies After Or Make A Movie All Ready After The Show Insted Of Retelling The Whole Original Story Just Have Flash Backs Or Retelling Peices In The Movie About Youre Story Or The Original Show And Listen Here I Agree With MotherDuce Keep The Original Car Or If Not At least Keep The New One From The Show Cause That Stang Is Sweet
