Alex over at LifeSpy has a great Firefox Quick Tip…
Do you ever use the “go” button in Firefox? Of course you don’t…no moderately advanced user does…and if you’re here, chances are you’re at least a little moderately advanced. Well, you can get rid of that useless waist of toolbar space very easily. Here are the steps.
*Access the about:config page.
*Find the browser.urlbar.hideGoButton preference name
*Double-click on it to change its value from false to true.
*The changes take effect instantly
Easy enough!

1I use the Go button all the time, and yet I’m at least moderately advanced.
What’s the quickest way to open the document you’re currently in as a page in a new tab? (Hint: it uses the Go button!)
Next time avoid the condescension like real writers, like me. ~tcohnegeuke~

That last line of yours is a joke, right? It’s a condescending line about NOT writing condescending lines…

6Hey, how about a quick tip to get rid of that same button on the Search Engines bar. You know, the one with magnifying glass. That button is useless and annoying!

8[...] Okay, so maybe I was too harsh with the Go button. But I do have to apologize to people who find it useful. It’s just that my circle of friends who are really advanced users never use it (being keyboard ninjas all). Seems like some people over at Forever Geek love the Go button. [...]

9Whoah… Seems like many people love the Go button. Sorry for remarking almost the same over at LifeSpy. Maybe it’s just all of my friends never use that button. I just never use it, being a practitioner of keyboard ninjitsu. Peace! :D

10When I’m laying on the couch vegging out, and otherwise just “click-surfing” (no keyboard), I use the Go button all the time. Middle-clicking the Go button is the same as hitting Alt-Enter from the Address bar. Very handy. Also handy when you are copy-and-pasting a URL into the Address bar and aren’t using the keyboard.
