Newsarama published an interview with Joss Whedon yesterday where he revealed that he will be overseeing a 12 issue Angle mini-series that will serve as an official “season 6″ of Angel.

For those of you that may not be aware, Angel was a series that spun-off from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. It ran for 5 seasons on The WB, and starred David Borianez as a vampire with a soul, hell bent on “helping the helpless”.

For fans of the Buffyverse, this is great news. Joss will be working with Bryan Lynch, the writer of the upcoming Spike: Shadow Puppets mini-series, on the project.
