Saw this movie, too, and wanted it to be good, but like so many movies these days, I walked away saying "Yougottabekiddingme." First, Nick Cage looks like he's been run over and the truck backed over him... twice. Second, Did Julianne Moore and Cage share the same bottle of Wal-Mart hair color?! Third, I never "got" why Jessica Biel was in the movie at all. She's a Playmate-world class-babe and he's a second-rate Vegas nightclub magician. I'm sure a gal like Biel would not give Grandpa Cage the time of day... EVER (even in the movies). And fourth, ohmygod, that Scooby-doo ending makes you wanna go "HRUH?!!"

Maybe films like these are the product of bad direction (on top of bad writing). I see some clever ideas in films, but their execution is as monolithically bad as Speed 2 and Wicker Man. Glad to read your review, since it coincided with my experience too.
