How do you judge a movie a flop from 5 seconds of footage of prime speaking with lips? What are you? some miserable human being that derives pleasure by spewing your negativity like some walking piece of sewage? Or do you believe if you act like an a-hole that you’ll appear more intelligent? You know what kills great movies adapted from comics or cartoons? The producers and directors trying to make Guys like you happy because you’ll take two seconds of footage and piss on it because the character has lips. Why don’t you find real happiness and stop being a whiny little ass.

Why should there be any loyalty?
I don’t remember Micheal Bay saying that the movie was going to be loyal to the franchise. In fact, I think that’s probably the smartest move he could make.
“Hmm… I could make a movie that would only appeal to 10% of my possible audience, or I could make a movie that could actually entertain the majority.”
I think it’s a no-brainer.

P.S. G1 Soundwave was an incredibly lame character, that’s why he’s never been entirely copied in later series.

The point is it’s beginning to look like the only tie this movie has anymore to the Tramsformers is the names and the fact that they’re transforming robots. FFS it’s completely butchered. They may as well have called it Gobots. Michael Bay is a douche there’s been absolutely no loyalty to the original franchise in this adaptation. Unless there’s a G1 loyal soundwave I’m pretty much going to say that as a transformers movie this rates a 1 out of 10. But as a movie in general it may do better. I’m just sayin that as it stands from what I’ve seen they could have made this same movie without the transformers name and avoided alienating all the fans out there. Again Michael Bay is a douche

I don’t like the way this looks. I think the designs are terrible, and I think the way his mouth moves in this trailer looks idiotic.

I’m all for filmmakers taking creative license to do their own versions of things. I understand that they do that, and that a comic is not a movie, a cartoon is not a movie, and something that appeals to a cult audience may not appeal to a everyone…

Having said that…this movie looks like crap. The robots look terrible, and everything I’ve seen so far looks laughable. I would be incredibly happy if I walked out of this theater having seen a good movie…I already know I’m not seeing a movie that is in anyway connected to the Transformers series I watched as a kid…but the movie that I am seeing so far, does not look impressive to me in any way.

Ive been a TF fan since day 1, had all the G1 toys, comic series watched the tv show blah blah and from all the teasers ive seen, it looks pretty damn good to me. Some peeps are way 2 judgmental for their own good or they like to hear themselves whine. boo hoo hoo

That is an excellent point Taylor… but it doesn’t matter. Even if this movie is good it is every Transfan’s responsibility to find some reason to whine about it. You can’t make fanboys happy. So why bother?

I don’t know why Transformers fans are getting so worked up about this.
Of course, I’m not really a transformers fan, so the obsessiveness just bewilders me. It’s a movie, not a toy. In fact, I think the original Transformers series sucked total ass. The only transformers related program I ever enjoyed was Beast Machines (I’ve been told that this could get me lynched in some circles).
As far as I’m concerned, why would alien robots from space even need to transform into a humanoid shape in the first place. If they do, it’s probably for our benefit, not theirs. So why not have a mouth.

I do think that the series will be made into a summer blockbuster. In that sense, yes, it will be disappointing. This is not the fans’ “Transformers”; this is the masses’ “Transformers.”

Still, I’d have been slightly pacified if the announcer had followed the name of the movie with “more than meets the eye,” because it truly felt like it was missing.

Spielberg has had a few flops…his first film Deul wasn’t a commercial success. Then 1941 and Always were also box office bombs…so it has happened before, but I’m not sure Transformers will be a box office flop…I just think it’s going to suck.
