Matt Fraction and Ariel Olivetti should stand up and take a bow, because they are working on the best super hero version of the Punisher that has ever been published.

This issue is my first (of many more to come) of this series, and this creative team is literally knocking it out of the park. The art is beautiful, and the book reads like a well written 80s action movie (I know that may be an oxymoron, but it’s true).

Frank is pissed that somebody shot Captain America, and the Hate Monger has picked the wrong time to start dressing like him (Cap) and killing Mexicans in the name of America.

When Frank sees a newspaper article with the Hate Monger in it on the next to last page, the last panel of said page made me laugh out loud, and may be my favorite bit of dialogue in the history of comics.

It doesn’t look like Frank is going to attempt to take over the mantle of Captain America…but whatever is happening in this book, I’m going to be there for it.

I’m sold. This rocks.
