Yesterday, Sony unveiled the Playstation Eye – the next generation of the Playstation Eye Toy camera.

This version features a complete redesign that has crafted it to, apparently, look like it has a microphone afro – as well as some advanced features. VGA-resolution images run at 60 frames per second, while a smaller QVGA image runs even faster at 120 frames per second. The microphone is also greatly improved, to focus on human speach, and cancel out background noise.
The Eye will also come with software to allow users to record video, add effects, and store them on your Playstation 3. One has to wonder if I Sony branded version of YouTube could be far behind…
There is no official release date or pricing for the The Eye just yet.
