According to a French Apple blog, MacBidouille, Apple is ready launch it’s DRM-free catalog of EMI music.

Apple’s terms will require that whole albums be offered as a second tier of 256Kbps AAC files without the iTunes-only FairPlay copy protection scheme,

This means that one of the biggest steps towards the end of DRM as we know it has already been taken, and if we, the consumers, correspond correctly, it might lead to the faster acceptance from other music distributors.

Hopefully, this update will come tomorrow. But we all know how legal affairs tend to delay things. At least we already know, for certain, that the change is coming, so even if it misses our expectations by a week, we should be happy.
