Entertainment Weekly has the first stills and and an interview with Eric Johnson from the new Flash Gordon series set to premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel this August. The series looks promising, and Johnson seems to be really into the concept which is all good news.
Fans of the 1980 movie (that’s right…BOTH of you…I kid…I kid…) need to get prepared to see a new kind of Flash, however. While there is some traveling to the Planet Mongo, as of right now there isn’t a spaceship in site for Flash.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this show turns out. Right now, it looks like it will be a Smallville-styled re-imagining of the Flash Gordon concept…hopefully that will work.
