Even though the Wii’s internet capabilities are a bit limited at the moment, and by this I mean that there aren’t many ways to interact with other Wii users, you can now use another of Google’s online applications, the Google Reader, which is basically an online RSS reader that allows you to gather headlines and articles from various websites all in one page.
Here are the “controls” for the Google reader for the Wii:
Tips and tricks
Google Reader can take advantage of the buttons on your Wiimote, letting you navigate easily from the comfort of your couch:
- up/down: scroll up/down
- right/left: next/previous item
- 1 button: show subscriptions
- 2 button: show links
When showing subscriptions:
- up/down: previous/next subscription
- right: select current subscription
- left: close
- -/+: collapse/expand folder
You can start using the Google reader on your Wii, or your current browser by going to this address: http://www.google.com/reader/wii.
