AnandTech recently wrote an article about the new DDR-3 memories that Kingston just launched. Apparently they were surprised that Kingston released them ahead of the Intel motherboards which will only be launched on the 4th of June.

Even so, these memories aren’t just a “beta” or an underpowered product. Their performance values are very close to the theoretical limit and their performance is just as good as the current best DDR-2 memory in the market, which isn’t bad at all, for something that was just released.

The negative aspect about these memories is that they consume battery, whether they’re being used or not, but the positive aspect is that they deliver the performance that they promised. If you are going to upgrade your PC, then it might be worthwhile to check these new memories out. Not only will you get a great “bang for the buck”, you will also be prepared for future products which will undoubtedly support these memories better.
