Another glimpse at the Joker can be found in this image. While it’s very blurry, the image is from a report about the fact that the Dark Knight is shooting with IMAX in mind…and it’s the first major studio feature film to do that.

The image of the Joker appears to be a slightly more traditional look for the character than the first image we saw last week.

The news about the IMAX shooting is one that is interesting, but seems rather odd to me. They are shooting four scenes from the movie with IMAX cameras. In an IMAX theatre, the aspect ratio on the screen will jump to the full size of the screen instead of the “widescreen” look of the rest of the film. Even in a standard theatre, these scenes are said to be “more vivid”.

To me, that seems like it could be very distracting, in the same way the the 3-D glasses were very distracting during Superman Returns in the IMAX. We’ll see how this plays out when the film is complete, of course, but for now it’s just one more bit of interesting news about a film that we won’t even see until mid-next year.
