In these bikes, the motor isn't very heavy or strong. If you think of it as a bike with that extra feature, then it's a good idea. A scooter or motorcycle is a totally different way to get around. You can't ride those (or park) in the same spaces as a bike, you need to refuel at the gas station, plus you need a motorcycle license (depending on cc and state). Motorbikes (even scooters) are a lot bigger and heavier than a bicycle.
