Western Digital has just announced a new 2.5″ hard drive disk aimed at desktop users, that takes advantage of the perpendicular recording technology which allows you to access and write information on various layers of the disk.
The interface is SATA (which means that I can’t get one for my laptop), spins at 5400rpm, and features some technologies that help improve the seek time and how quietly the drive operates, and, of course, a technology to protect the drive from protect the drive from shocks.
You can purchase the new drive right now from Western Digital’s online store for $199.99.
