Although they were lagging behind Nokia and Samsung, it looks like Sony Ericsson finally got it’s act together, and they have just announced the latest and greatest Cyber-Shot phone, the K850.

This cellphone is tri-band, which means that you can use it pretty much anywhere in the world, with 40Mb of internal memory, expandable with either a Memory Stick Micro M2, or a Micro SD, which is quite surprising, considering that usually Sony only allows it’s own flash card formats in their devices.
The phone also comes with a new photo application that allows you to quickly browse photos based on when they were taken very quickly. The phone also allows you to do some small adjustments to the images without the need of a personal computer.
The D-Pad is awkward, but according to the person who was on location with it, it works surprisingly well. Also, current Cyber-Shot cellphone owners will be happy to hear that the back of the device doesn’t have that sliding cover anymore, which used to make the cellphone quite thicker.

Tri-band means it works well in Europe and not so well in North America…
