Last month Creative introduced a new screen-less music player, similar to the iPod Shuffle. Today, they announced an improved version of it, that sports a small screen that gives you the track name, the battery status, etc.

Unfortunately, this player won’t play AAC music, but it’s compatible with “MP3, WMA, WM DRM9“. Creative probably guessed that it would be better for them to make a player with the screen themselves, otherwise some other company might do that for them. Remember the Super Shuffle?

Why don’t they throw AAC support in there? Is that exceptionally hard for some reason?
