Well, Transformers the Game has just gone on my MUST HAVE list.

Not only did they go to the trouble of casting the original Megatron to voice the character in the game (in addition to Peter Cullin, the original Optimus, who also appears in the movie), but according to Gamespot, the video game will feature several in-game options for fans of the original series, including characters like Shockwave that are not seen in the film, and Generation One designs for playable characters in the game.

…our favorite part of the bonus material is the inclusion of a number of playable “generation one” Transformer characters. You can expect to either terrorize or defend the populace with Optimus Prime, Megatron, or Jazz (among others) in all their old-school glory.

Now, I don’t quite understand how they’re going to make Megatron work (what with him turning into a gun and all) but I don’t care. I can’t wait to try this out…
