The nice folks over at Akihabaranews have recently put together a small review of a small and dynamic UMPC made by Fujitsu. Basically with this UMPC you can flip the LCD around and transform it into a UMPC “tablet mode”, or just open it normally for a “laptop mode”.

It’s not as pretty as some other ultra portables out there, like the ones from Sony or Samsung, but it seems more balanced than the others because the interface changes with what you need to do. If you want to browse, you can open the keyboard, if you just want to watch videos, you can just use it in tablet mode.
So finally…what to think about this new UMPC?
Well, when it comes to the design, the U8240 certainly is not as “sexy” as a Vaio UX and this will bother those choose regarding the looks…now…if you mention ergonomics, usability and processing power there is an italian word for it: BRAVO! Because using XP this Fujitsu was smooth and enjoyable, the main issue would be this problem with the rotation of the screen and the Touch Screen (maybe because of my beta version?) but honestly if I was to choose right now, I’d take this one over a Sony Vaio UX!
