Looks like the latest version of the firmware has already been released for Sony’s first portable console.
The biggest, and most relevant change with this new firmware is that it allows you to connect to the Playstation 3 via the internet and stream your media files to it, making it the ultimate media device, as long as you have a decent wireless access where you choose to use it.
A few months ago, the “only” way to remotely access media on your PSP was to purchase an expensive Sony device just for the sole purpose of streaming media. And although you still have to purchase another expensive the device, in this case, the Playstation 3, at least your PSP will gain more functionality than a fancy paper brick that happens to run some games.
You can download this latest update from the Sony US PSP website, or from the respective local website for your region.
