Although I'm not a fan of Sony's formats either, I think that eventually Blu-Ray will win.

As soon as someone finds a way to play backed-up copies of Blu-Ray disks on the console, or as soon as some of Sony's "real" titles come out, like Gran Turismo, or Final Fantasy 13, the numbers will start shifting, and Blu-Ray will become the preferred format.

In fact, I think that the numbers are already favoring the Blu-Ray format. Last time I saw a format-wars article, it was supposedly selling a little better than HD-DVD. And don't forget that in Europe, and Japan, the console is selling well; not as well as Nintendo is, but good enough to make the format stand out compared to HD-DVD.
