After introducing most of the new models, Sony has finally decided to update their small C line laptops to the current “R” model revision. These are basically the Sony equivalent to the Apple Macbook line, in terms of size and specifications.

As for the specifications:

* Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 @ 1.8 Ghz, 2MB Cache L2, Frontside Bus 800 MHz
* Chipset: Mobile Intel GM965 Express
* OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
* Memory: 2048 MB DDR2 (2×1024 MB)
* HDD: SATA 160 GB (5400 rp/min)
* Monitor: 14.1″ X-black WXGA (1280×800)
* Gfx card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 256 MB
* Ports: 4 Pin iLink (IEEE1394) 400 Mbps, DC in, slot MemoryStick , slot SD Card, RJ-11, modem, RJ-45, 2x USB, VGA, tv-out (S-video),slot Express Card
* Network: Modem 56K, Wireless LAN (54 Mbps) 802.11a/b/g, Ethernet Gigabit, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR
* Other: Webcam, DVD-DL

Since the price of these models is usually more or less the same as a Macbook, if you want to buy a laptop with the intention of only using Windows or Linux, then this is a better deal than the Macbook, in terms of specifications.
