The latest portable media device from iRiver not only packs some great features, but also a great new look. Although it doesn’t seem like it will fit very comfortably in your pocket, it has a very sophisticated design. And the interface seems a bit similar to the one used by the PSP, so it should be pretty easy to use.

If you’re worried about lack of compatibility with your media files, then you’ll be happy to hear that the device supports a wide number of them, and a surprisingly big number of video codecs, compared to other media devices of the same kind:
MP3,WMA, OGG – ASF, WMV, MPG, Xvid, H.264
So what do you think readers, is the new iRiver enough to convince you to purchase it, rather than the next iPod, or do they still have a long way to go?

1Well actually, the iRiver NV is only available in Asia and the DMB Tuner does not work in the states. Until they release it in the states we won’t know. But it does look pretty cool.
