The number of titles available or announced on HD DVD world-wide is higher than for Blu-Ray and there are more studios/distributors for HD DVD than for Blu-Ray (not necessarily all “major” ones though).

I would think the fact that HD DVD has no region codes would be an advantage for European movie collectors. I’m happily buying titles from Europe that are Blu-Ray exclusives in the US. They don’t cost much more if at all than what may be found in domestically brick and mortar stores like Best Buy (who don’t discount much).

I only buy HD DVD because of these reasons and the fact that the title choices for the format are the ones I prefer.
