Just a little while after Western Digital released a 250GB 2.5″ external HDD, Buffalo releases a 300GB one, and for a very competitive price, at least in European markets.
While Western Digital’s drive costs $199, Buffalo’s costs ¥38000 ($315 USD or €229). Considering that the first drive costs little over €200 in Europe, if Buffalo adopts a similar price in Europe they will certainly seduce a few new customers.

Although this new drive has bigger capacity than it’s competitor… I’m a sucker for good product design, and I’d still choose the WD drive over this new one. But most tech “aficionados” usually don’t care much for design, so this product will certainly do well.
