External DVD burners aren’t hard to come by, even those that are compatible with both Windows and Apple computers. So why is this one any different?
Well, the product itself is nothing new, but it’s a bit surprising that Buffalo, a Japanese-based company, has started adding more support for Macs, considering that their consumer share in Japan is much smaller than it is in America.

As for the product itself, it can burn DVDs at a maximum speed of 16x, and it has both a USB and a Firewire interface, which is a bit uncommon in these days, and really differentiates this device from many others.
