Catherine Tate is the new Companion for Series 4 of Doctor Who

doctorwhoseries4 Catherine Tate is the new Companion for Series 4 of Doctor WhoSeries 3 of Doctor Who hasn’t even begun airing in the United States yet, but the series finale (they call them series instead of seasons for all you American folks who are confused) aired in the UK last week. While I will not spoil the fate of the character of Martha Jones in that episode, I will say that Martha will not be joining the Doctor for the full season next year. She will return to the show, but a new companion will also be in the mix for all 13 episodes of series 4…her name is Catherine Tate.

Tate played the part of a bride in the Doctor Who Christmas Special last year (which airs in the US for the first time on July 6th on Sci-Fi), and is very pleased to be returning to the series in a much larger capacity in the next round of episodes.

Doctor Who series 4 will begin airing in March of 2008, and will hopefully follow here in the states on the Sci-Fi channel shortly there after.

That’s kind of a disappointment to me actually. I was really hoping (albeit in vain) that they would bring Rose back. I’m not sure I can handle a whole series w/ the Donna character. Very interesting news indeed.

I am absolutely devestated that Catherine T ate is to be in all 13 episodes of series 4! Catherine totally overacts every role she plays, is not funny at all and her shouting completely ruins everything, ‘gutted’!
