The following image is now up at the teaser site for The Dark Knight Returns that was launched today.

Along with it, is a teaser trailer for the film featuring the voices of Christian Bale, Michael Cain, and (presumably) Heath Ledger as the Joker.

It’s clear from this that the Joker isn’t going to be dropped in chemicals, or at least, his skin isn’t going to change color. Every image we’ve seen shows him with a flesh colored neck, with the make up obviously being painted on his face. I’m very curious to see what they decide to do for an origin for the character if they’re going a different route than what has been established before…we’ll see soon enough.
