I think the point is they are adding more gesture functionality to the trackpad, and since they just released a flagship device with similar functionality they are using that as an excuse to put a feature name they have been beating into our heads for the past year onto another product. ...But that's just me. They say the trackpad will be the input device for the new, exciting multi-touch technology. This completely ignores the fact that trackpads have been touch-based input devices for a decade now, and Macs have had multi-touch trackpads for at least a couple of years (remember two finger scrolling?). So basically, the rumor is that Apple is going to add multi-touch trackpads to MacBooks? Seems to me this rumor comes about two years late.
