Despite offering many free web applications or services, that some of us can’t even live without, even Google has to make money from some place.

This latest strategy of theirs involves the creation of a new mobile search engine, aimed at cellphones, that will allow users to take advantage of the already available services like mail, news, mapping and etc and also make purchases of mobile content like ringtones.

You will also be able to purchase products using Google’s Products search engine. Obviously, the platform used for these transactions will be none other than their Paypal competitor: Checkout, and this service is rumored to start with Vodafone in the UK.

Although I don’t think I will be using this new service much, I guess that for some people it could be very convenient, and also help Google’s Checkout service gain new users.
