Although the just-released iPhone allows users to browser YouTube and watch videos, the lack of a 3G model, or any other model outside of the United States gives Apple’s competitors the advantage of being able to release competitive products before the iPhone is available worldwide.

This upcoming LG cellphone, which will be available in Europe first, will allow users to browse and upload videos directly to YouTube without the need of a computer. For YouTube it’s definitely a win-win situation, but for LG I’m not so sure.

I’m pretty positive that when Apple introduces the iPhone in Europe they will include 3G in it’s first or second generation of devices, and if that happens, giving the iPhone the same functionality as this upcoming LG one will be as easy as giving it a firmware update.
