According to some “reliable sources”, ThinkSecret is claiming that the next iteration of iMacs, will be announced on August 7th.
Even though Leopard will only be released in October, Apple is hoping on selling some new computers during the back-to-school season. Although it’s a bit unlikely, the same sources claim that iLife is nearing it’s final stages, and it may end up being released at around the same time as the new iMacs for the same reasons mentioned before.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy any new Mac computers with the new version of the Operating System so close to being released, unless Apple pulled a Microsoft and allowed people to upgrade to Leopard for a very low or non-existing price.

1They are not doing a “discount” for the upgrades at all, i have ask around at both Apple stores and over the help line. As far as they know, the only way that you would be getting a free upgrade is if your computer was processed while the software premiered. Sad, because i believe they did do this for past upgrades. I think they are going to lose sales. They lost mine at least — that is until October.
