While some companies go for the high quality specifications and features that result in an expensive product, others go for something lighter, therefore cheaper. That is what happened with Sony and Nintendo, and their respective gaming consoles – PlayStation3 and Nintendo Wii.

It doesn’t matter if the PS3 was launched almost one month earlier then the Wii on Japan, what matters is that Nintendo already sold 3 million units, while Sony only has 1 million. Of course that the price of each device also helps Nintendo Wii that costs $205, while the PS3 costs the double.
Nintendo has so far seen strong demand for the Wii, helped by its affordable price and motion-sensing controller, which enables users to direct on-screen action by swinging it like a racket or sword.
