One of the technologies I follow fairly closely is the developments in the solar energy world. There has been renewed focus on the technology lately, and developments are starting to peak my interest more and more. Recently, I saw a report of paint-on solar cells.
“Someday homeowners will even be able to print sheets of these solar cells with inexpensive home-based inkjet printers. Consumers can then slap the finished product on a wall, roof or billboard to create their own power stations.” said Somenath Mitra.
While I don’t know if I will ever be interested in printing solar cells from my printer at home (especially the piece of junk I have now). I do like the idea that this will bring the technology to a new lower price.
