The people at PCWorld have published a killing article about Windows and its Top 20 worst features. There are some obvious ones, like Notifications, that annoys me a lot. I also agree with Internet Explorer 6 being placed in the podium (on third place) and the End Task feature that sometimes just doesn’t want to work.
Important note: this story shared by an ex-Microsoft developer talks about the Shut Down feature on Windows Vista – interesting read that shows how bad the important coding team is treated when compared to the other folks, and how many people (8) were needed to create the menu.
Anyway, here is the list:
20. DriveSpace
19. Windows Movie Maker
18. Web TV for Windows
17. Shut Down
16. Paint
15. Windows Aero
14. Active Desktop
13. Windows XP Search
12. The Microsoft Network
11. Windows Explorer
10. Windows 95 USB
9. Windows Genuine Advantage
8. End Task
7. User Access Control
6. Windows Update
5. Messenger Service
4. Notifications
3. Internet Explorer 6
2. The Registry
1. ActiveX Controls
