If it’s one thing Alienware is – it’s ahead of the curve. They have just introduced 4x Blu-Ray drives into their Area-51 7500, Aurora 7500, Area-51 ALX, and Aurora ALX desktops – an industry first. For $600 you can now burn your Blu-Ray disks 100% faster…which, if you’re burning Blu-Ray disks, will make you happy, I’m sure.
It’s hard to jump on the band wagon of these formats one way or the other for movies, but I think in computers, it makes much more sense to get something like this if you need to back up a lot of data. I think that, no matter who wins the video format war, there will be a place for Blu-Ray data disks for a long time to come.
You can order them now at Alienware’s official site.
