I’m not even going to bother questioning this one. Sorry Apple fans. Korean company Avago has recently announced a hybrid controller that allows you to use it as both as a 4-way Directional Pad, click-wheel, or analogue stick, which could be suited for a large number of devices. Imagine the possibilities of such a controller on every cellphone, or even on gaming consoles?

Although touch screens are great, I don’t think that a controller of this kind would be too bad, even on an iPhone. I can think of two devices right now that would work great with this controller. The first one is the PSP, with it’s horizontal menu which you could scroll through and use the D-Pad to select the options, and any random smartphone as pictured above.

Touchscreens are great, but for example, when I’m browing a webpage on a smartphone, I’d rather not put my finger on the area I’m reading in order to scroll it.
