First off, if you haven’t checked out the incredible demo for BioShock on Xbox Live Marketplace, I highly recommend you do so (but settle in for a wait…it clocks in at a whopping 1.3 GB). I didn’t get to sit down with it in earnest until last night, and burned an easy 45 minutes before I got too creeped out and had to shut it off. If you’re a fan of first-person shooters, RPG’s, survival horror, or art deco, I think it’ll be right up your alley.
The game is slated to be released on August 21, but there are reports coming out that various retailers, Toys ‘R Us, specifically, are breaking street date and putting BioShock out early. I’ve called a couple of stores near me, and neither “had the game in stock.” Now, whether that means that they actually don’t have it, or that they just won’t make the same mistake as some other stores is not apparent. Regardless, if you’re chomping at the bit for this one like I am, start calling around.

1I wonder how many hours it will take for this game to break down a, supposedly healthy, Xbox 360.

2Well, I’ve been playing mine since December of 2005 with little to no problems, so hopefully quite a while.
