However, devices which have a cassette-like device on the end of a headphone jack, allowing you to output your MP3 player to the tape deck, have been around for many years now. I got one in 2002 as part of a CD player bundle pack. This one just ups the coolness factor a little by not having wires running out of your tape deck to make it look like you hacked it 5 minutes before you started driving and you can put it into conventional tape decks which completely enclose the cassette. Now, what would get us nerds really excited is if it also supported .OGGs and .FLACs. Interesting device.
