Yup – Nokia hasn’t given up on the N-Gage just yet. In fact, there is a whole section on the official N-Gage site dedicated to “Futurewatch“, which is a apparently what their going to call their relaunch campaign – or it’s just the name of the section that talks about stuff they’re planning to do in the future…I don’t really know or care.
The point is – they’ve decided to go the casual game route with a series of titles from i-play. The first two of which are World Rally Championship and Super Mahjong from the makers of Jewel Quest.
Nokia hopes these new casual games will entice new users to the N-Gage platform – I suppose – but I seriously doubt the Taco Phone can compete in a post-iPhone world.

1Not specifically N-Gage, but pretty much all Nokia phones that run Symbian can run N-Gage games.
You’re right tho, it’s a piss ancient phone and does need an update. How about Dual 400Mhz ARM and SD cards? Oh wait, that’s my GP2X…
