Although there’s no SDK for iPhone developers (well, unless you’re building a web application), that hasn’t stopped programmers from hacking into the iPhone and making their own applications without the need of any official support.
One of the first of these new programs is a NES emulator! Although it’s still slow and the controller isn’t quite “good”, it’s a great proof of concept. And you can be sure we’ll see many more of these in the future.

A host of apps is already available for the “It” gadget of 2007, including this hack of the InfoNES Nintendo emulator, which lets you play Super Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda and hordes of other classic NES titles right on the iPhone, complete with an onscreen gamepad (though the developer says the pad isn’t quite ready for prime time).
