Three week ago Netflix dropped the price of their 3 Dvds at a time package to $16.99 to match Blockbuster, who offers the 3 Dvds at a time mail order service for the same $16.99 – or you can pay $17.99 and get some in-store rentals as well (they have recently crippled the “total access” plan, though – limiting it to 5 rentals a month).
Today, however, Netflix sent out an email to subscribers letting them know that the price on the 3 Dvds at a time package has dropped AGAIN – this time by another $1 – so we’re now down to $15.99.
Is this price war fixing to get out of hand? Are Netflix and Blockbuster going to shoot themselves in the foot by continually lowering prices? I don’t know – but I’m sticking with Netflix on this one – Blockbuster can suck it!
