I like Michael Bay movies. I even agree with the point of his hissy fit on his personal blog – Consumers should have a choice.
However – there is something about Michael Bay that rubs me the wrong way. I just don’t like him. I think he’s a jerk. I’ll watch his movies, but I’d never want to me the guy in real life. He constantly comes off like an asshole – and his latest blog post is no exception. “Paramount pisses me off!”, he states, “I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!”
I love the “No Transformers 2 for me!”
First – that makes me excited. Maybe we can get those flames off of Optimus in the second one. Second – this is impulsive, blogging at it’s best. The format wars are not now, nor will they ever, dictate what movies directors make. If he’s got this problem, he’s going to be screwed since all the studios are being bribed into taking sides.
Anyway – that’s what’s going on there.

1I agree, that is totally lame. Directors should concentrate on directing the movie, not what disc format it comes out on.
And quite franky, are Blu-Ray and HD *that* different? I mean, it’s not like he’s being forced to go back to BetaMax or anything!
