Besides showing off what will become it’s own iPhone, the Finnish company also unveiled the next cellphone specifically designed for media and gaming, the N81.

Like the iPhone, the N81 will have 8GB of capacity or, if you prefer it, a Micro SD card slot instead, which supports cards of up to 4GB in size. If you want to listen to music, you can plugin your normal 3.5mm headphone and listen to any song in MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, or M4A formats.

If you want to get your game on, just put the phone in “landscape mode” and play away with the dedicated keys, and your gaming fix provided by Nokia’s new Ovi service, and you access the said service with the phone’s built-in Wifi!

It also has the rest of the average features: Bluetooth, 2 Megapixel camera, etc, etc.

Everything seems fine until this point, but the price is the real deal-breaker. If you can’t afford an iPhone, you can’t afford this phone either. The 8gb model will cost $599 unlocked and the “normal” one with the Micro SD slot will cost $499.

Design-wise, I love it. I’m sucker for sliding handsets. But the price seems a little high in my opinion. If it weren’t for the standard headphone jack, I wouldn’t even look twice at this handset. But given that it does have it, and will hopefully have some nice game titles to play on, this might be worth your money if you like to get your gaming fix on the go. But if you don’t like gaming that much, I’d stick with the iPhone.
