For all you cellphone-trekkies out there, LG has just announced a new HDSPA phone, and as you can read in the title, allows you to reach download speeds of up to 7.2MBps, which is 7 times more than my DSL connection believe it or not.
As for the other features, it supports DMB, so you can watch TV and hear radio on it (if you’re in Japan), e-dictionary, media player, Bluetooth, and the rest of the whole nine yards.

Although I’m all for sexy handsets such as this one, this particular design is clearly an imitation of some of Samsung’s slider handsets like these two. I don’t think this is a coincidence, since LG is Samsung’s biggest rival right now in the lands of the rising sun, but I’d rather see them going after their own look, rather than imitating others.

1It also looks like a copy of my Nokia E65. I do, however, like the bigger number buttons on this LG.
