Best of Digital Life 2007

Best of Digital Life 2007

Digital Life, one of the largest consumer technology and gaming events of the year, has finally ended today. Obviously, there were plenty of top-notch gadgets presented, and more, the gaming scene was really hardcore. With that being said, here is my personal list about the best (and worst) of Digital Life 2007: Dance Dance revolution Not a gadget per se, more of a competition of dancing and guitar related games. According to BG, there were “Grown men and women, hopping up and down, flailing their arms and more”. I think this is enough… Namco shows the love for Pac-Man The popular Pac-Man game was available to be played in different Read more »

More original spam subject lines

More original spam subject lines

Last week I covered some of the best email spam subject lines I had in my Spam folder, but to tell you the truth, they weren’t good at all. A few minutes ago I re-visited the spammy folder, only to find out that there are better spam lines than before. If you don’t believe me, take a look at the first 3, because the rest are junk. African tribes take these herbs all the time, this is why they have… Your old watch is so ugly that you keep on asking the others what time it is? recommended by porn stars since 1999 Making your woman happy is very important Read more »

Xbox 360 Core System to disappear by year's end

Xbox 360 Core System to disappear by year's end

In a move that should shock no one, Microsoft is apparently no longer going to be offering the Xbox 360 Core System. Kotaku is reporting that GameStop has just gotten notice from Microsoft to pull all signage regarding the baby version of the console, saying that what they have in stock is all that they’ll be getting. It’s tough for me to understand how these things lasted this long, anyway.  Much like the case with the 4GB iPhone, if someone was going to be paying the amount of the severly limited Core System anyway, why not just go for the Premium for $100 more?  Ah, well…it’s not something we’ll have Read more »

Nintendo Wii: Purchased, But Not Played

Nintendo Wii: Purchased, But Not Played

So the shortages of the Nintendo Wii in my area of Canada are pretty much over. You can find a few units in most Wal-Marts or other stores, and so I finally picked one up. My bosses, a few co-workers and friends have been playing their Nintendo Wii’s for months now while I have waited in envy for my chance. It took a while to get to this point though as I already have two laptops, a desktop computer, and an Xbox 360. I worked on convincing my wife that it could help me lose weight as I could really use some help in that area. I explained that she Read more »

Shoprider Flagship – A Chlostrophobic's Worst Nightmare

Shoprider Flagship – A Chlostrophobic's Worst Nightmare

In the world of electric scooters, you may only think of the Rascal, but there’s a new king in town – and his name is Flagship. The Shoprider Flagship is a top of the line all weather scooter for people with mobility issues. As a Chlostrophobic, I find this machine frightening on a level almost beyond comprehension. I would imagine these are the cars people drive in my own personal Hell, and that should I wake up there, I would do so, in one of these things, stuck in rush hour traffic forever. The doors on this vehicle are lockable (eek), but they can also be removed to accommodate larger Read more »

John Cleese joins The Podcast Network

Comedian and genius, John Cleese has signed on with The Podcast Network to produced an exclusive video podcast series called “Headcast”. There will be both a free and premium version of the show. This is great news. Not only is John Cleese one of the funniest men to ever live, but having a celebrity of his level joining in the world of podcasting is a great sign for the medium. I can’t wait to check out the first episode. You can find The Podcast Network here. via TechCrunch Read more »

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, this amazing Pepper Mill from the land of the rising sun will not only grind your pepper in a deliciously fine power, it will even have it drop from the underbelly of everyone’s favorite bleeping droid – or that other droid that no one cares about… via Technabob Read more »

First reports of bricked iPhones emerge

First reports of bricked iPhones emerge

A few days ago, Apple released a statement warning that the next iPhone update would brick any iPhones that had been unlocked, and that it could also brick those that had third-party applications in them. At the end of that article, I anticipated that despite the warning, people would still try to update their iPhones and end up with a very expensive brick: I’m certain that there will most likely be a flood of hate-articles if this next update happens to brick a random iPhone of some random European guy. My only mistake in that phrase above is that it wasn’t a European that first reported the “brickage”. According to Read more »

Panasonic unveils series 7 laptop

Panasonic unveils series 7 laptop

If you read my previous article about the new G2 Sony Vaio, you’ll notice that I mentioned that that laptop aims to compete with “corporate” Panasonic laptops, and this new series 7 is precisely what they’re competing agains. Thanks to Akihabaranews, we get a first look at what they look like, although we still don’t know what’s “inside the box”. Obviously it’s no “Macbook”, but it certainly looks sturdy enough to keep itself together from a few falls. And I have to admit that the CD rom tray, which is placed on the bottom-right part of the keyboard is very ingenuous, although it’s prone to scratch your disks when you Read more »

Sony releases new small-form SSD drive laptop

Sony releases new small-form SSD drive laptop

Although Panasonic’s laptops don’t sell as wish as the company would in Europe or in the rest of the world, they are one of the most popular brands in Japan. Specially their small form R6 series which are used by many corporations. This latest Sony laptop, the G2, is nothing less than their own answer to Panasonic’s popular R6 series. This laptop comes with the powerful Core 2 Duo processors, either the U7600 or U7500, and you can choose from 3 different colors, 3 different SDD drives: 32/48/64GB, or the conventional HDDs with various capacities. If I were investing in a small-form Windows computer, I’d put my money on a Read more »
