Speaking of apples and oranges, don’t you find it odd to see Halo’s opening sales being compared to movie tickets and hard cover book prices? Biggest opening on a price point is hard sell for me (pun intended).

Do you mean in quality or sales-wise? Even though KZ and H3 are apples and oranges, I think that KZ could give Halo a run for its money in terms of quality. But if you think Killzone will outsell Halo 3, you are sadly mistaken, methinks.

I’ve literally played the single player campaign for around 45 minutes, so I can’t speak to its quality yet. I will say this, though…the original Halo pretty much defined the genre on the (then) next-gen platform, and it was the standard that all other FPS’s were measured by. From what I’ve seen and read, Halo 3 doesn’t necessarily go to the same lengths that the first one did in terms of originality, but it definitely hasn’t taken any steps back.

Wow, that’s a lot of words. Yes, you should rent it and check it out. And if you ever do get Live, it’ll become a whole new world. My gamertag’s drewc1138, so look me up.

Hey Drew I never bothered playing the first two Halo games, should I rent this to give it a try? Know full well that I dont have Live Gold so it’d be just for singleplayer.
