Sanyo presents what they like to call the “world’s smallest and lightest” camcorder, the Xacti HD700. I seriously don’t understand companies that have the idea to claim that their products are good by characterizing them as “world’s something”, maybe they have hopes to sell more?

Anyway, the Xacti HD700 is the upgraded version of the HD100, so obviously the features are much better. Besides the 720p high-definition recording detail, the camcorder has 7.1-megapixels and supports both SD and SDHC memory cards.
The recording features are perfect for the web, which means that YouTube fans will be pleased to know that the video is recorded on the MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 format.
A quick run down of features reveals “Face Chaser” which does what you’d imagine, 5x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch screen.
Priced at $600 with a release date of late October in 3 colors: silver, red, and brown.
